GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT TACKLE CHEERLEADING Broken Arrow Youth Football Association, Inc. established in 1984, is a member of Indian Nations Football Conference. The cheerleading program is offered to all youth in the 1st through 7th grades. You do not have to live in the Broken Arrow School District to participate in BAYFA cheerleading. Registration begins March 1, 2010. Deadline to register is June 30, 2010. To register, click on the registration tab. There are NO try-outs. Everyone who completes the registration process will participate on a cheer squad at their grade level. All squads are considered recreational. However, some of the squads choose to continue and enter local and/or in some cases (depending upon the age) national cheerleading competitions after the football season. Your child must cheer the football season in order to be eligible to participate during the competitive portion of the season. Please keep in mind that there are more costs involved when preparing and entering cheer competitions. Please see our FAQ page for a better explanation of costs. Practices for the cheer season, to include the tackle season and competitive season, will begin the middle of July and continue until the last football game or competition whichever ends first. BAYFA will host two cheerleading camps. The first camp will be for 1st and 2nd graders July 24th @ the Nienhuis Community Center on Lynn Lane. The second will be August 2nd - 6th at the Nienhuis Football Complex for 3rd -7th grade levels. The camp is conducted by the Varsity Cheerleaders. Each girl who attends will learn a variety of cheers, chants, jumps, and dance routines. Please see our camps page for more information. |
